    • New: L’Association forestière du sud du Québec (AFSQ) invites you to explore the forest in a whole new light! Its mission: to raise awareness and educate the public about the sustainable management of our precious forest ecosystems.

On-site, discover two captivating booths: one immerses you in a fun, hands-on world to learn all about trees and the forest, while the other highlights exciting forestry careers and best management practices, with special attention for woodland owners.

Every day of the festival, three unique activities await you at scheduled times: a Land Art experience (creating ephemeral works of art from natural forest materials), an exciting treasure hunt, and an educational guided tour in the heart of the forest.

Come enjoy interactive and inspiring moments with the AFSQ, and rediscover the forest from a dynamic and enriching perspective!

New : The Kahnawake Traditional & Pow wow dancers

are a group of Indigenous dancers from the Mohawk community of Kahnawake, just outside Montreal, Quebec. The group is sometimes made up of men, women, and children who practice and share traditional Haudenosaunee social songs and dances as well indigenous Pow wow style dancing and performances.

Their main objective is to preserve, transmit, and celebrate Mohawk culture through dance, music, and traditional regalia(clothing).

They offer audiences an immersion in the cultural richness of the First Nations while emphasizing the values of respect, spirituality, and their continuous connection with nature and the land.

The 2 dancers featured in our festival today miss Amanda Kanatenhawi James and Singing Wind Deerwill be demonstrating and performing specific Pow wow dance styles including ‘The jingle dress dance’ also known as Women’s jingle and ‘The fancy shawl dance’ also known as Women’s fancy shawl. Both women have participated in Pow wow dances in and around Quebec extensively throughout the years including bigger Pow Wow events in the United States such as Seminole pow wow in southern Florida and the world biggest Gathering Gathering of Nationsof Nations pow wow held each year in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Saturday, October 11

Theme: Autumn Colours and Collaborative Art

Main Activity: Collective Autumn Canvas

  • Three large blank canvases with outlined maple leaves will be set up.
  • Children will be able to paint with acrylics, add real leaf prints, or decorate using various mediums (collage, textures, etc.).
  • Objective: to create a vibrant and colourful collective artwork.
Additional Activity: Autumn Mandalas to Colour
  • A dedicated table with printed mandala sheets (leaves, trees, animals, etc.)
  • Various mediums: coloured pencils, crayons.
  • Children take home their artwork as a keepsake.
Sunday, October 12

Theme: Natural Creation and Personal Expression

Main Activity: Rock Painting
  • Children decorate river rocks using acrylic paints, acrylic markers, or paint pens.
  • Suggested themes: nature symbols, little messages, animals, or abstract shapes.
  • Les roches pourront être apportées à la maison ou ajoutées à un mini « sentier de pierres » autour du kiosque.
Additional Activity: Personalized Mini Canvases
  • Small canvases (10 x 10 cm) provided for children who wish to create an individual artwork.
  • Inspiration: "What I Love About Autumn" or free creation.
  • Children take home their artwork as a keepsake (the mini canvas or their rocks).
Monday, October 13

Theme: Free Creation, Festival Memories, and Community Artwork

Activity 1 – Painting on tote Bags
  • Fabric bags provided for children to create a personalized artwork. 
  • Techniques: stencils, leaf stamps, brush or sponge painting.
  • Theme: "My Festival Memory" or "My Favourite Season".
Activity 2 – Drawings on Giant Sheets
  • Large leaf-shaped paper sheets hung on a clothesline around the booth.
  • Children draw or write a word about what they enjoyed at the festival.
  • Collective installation visible to all visitors.
Activity 3 – Continuation of the Collective Canvas (if unfinished)
  • If Saturday’s canvases are not finished, they will be available for final additions.
  • Opportunity to take final photos with children and their families in front of the artwork.
